Why choose U-boots?
U-boots were designed by a construction worker and architect, who has been in the field for over 30 years.
Design objectives were to engineer a column cap that has 100% contact to the beam, and can easily be installed using lags and/or nails. Engineered for bearing, uplift, lateral & transverse loads. Sealed calculations.
ONLY U-boot features:
3 correctly fitting sizes for LVL
10 gauge custom washers
Powder coated finish
Verified load capacities labeled on each boot
THE U-BOOT BOLTS DIRECTLY TO ANY 4” OR 3” AKRON FHA COLUMN OR EXTEND-O-POST.
FOR 2 PLY, 3 PLY, AND 4 PLY LVL BEAMS.

Shear & Uplift assume (10) 16d nails. The use of (4) 1/4” lags alone reduces Uplift to 800lbs. Bearing assumes a Utility Grade Douglas Fir beam at 625 psi compressive strength perpendicular to the grain. **Maximum bearing is based on 1000 psi perpendicular. For larger load capacities consult with supplier.
Caution: Do not exceed the capacity of the supporting column.
